Free AI train enquiry chat for Indian Railways
Ask TrainBot is a free AI chatbot for Indian Railways train enquiry. Type a question the way you would ask a person at the enquiry counter and it looks up the live answer: where a train is running, what a PNR says, which classes have seats, what the fare is. It works in the browser on any phone or computer, so there is no train enquiry app to download, no IRCTC login and no OTP.
What you can ask here
- Live train running status
- Send the five-digit train number. If you only know the train's name, ask for it by name first and the chat gives you the number. The reply says where the train was last reported, how many minutes late it is running, the next station and, where the railway's feed names one, the expected platform.
- PNR status
- Send the ten-digit PNR. The reply shows each passenger's current status — confirmed with coach and berth, RAC or waiting list with the position — and whether the chart has been prepared.
- Seat availability
- Name the train, the two stations, the class and the date. The reply shows the seats available in that class, or the waiting list position where there are none.
- Train fare enquiry
- Ask the fare for a train between two stations and the ticket price comes back class by class.
- Trains between two stations
- Name the two places, by station name or station code, for today or a date you give, and the direct trains are listed with their departure times.
- Train schedule and time table
- Send a train number and ask for its schedule: every stop with arrival and departure, and the days of the week it runs.
- Trains from a station
- Name a station to see what is arriving and leaving over the next few hours.
- How a train ran on earlier days
- Ask how late a train was yesterday, or over the last four days, and the days come back side by side.
Write in Hindi, English, Hinglish or any Indic script — the reply comes back in the language you asked in. Answers are read live from a rail-data provider at the moment you ask, so a delay that changed a minute ago is the delay you are told about.
How to check PNR status or train status in this chat
- Type or speak the question. Use the box at the top of this page. A bare train number or PNR is enough, and so is a whole sentence. The microphone button takes a spoken question in Hindi or English.
- Read the live answer. The chat picks the right railway lookup, fetches it at that moment and writes the reply in the language you asked in.
- Ask the follow-up. Ask about seats, the fare or the platform next without repeating the train. The conversation stays in this browser tab and is gone when you close it.
Questions about Ask TrainBot
Is Ask TrainBot free to use?
Yes. There is no charge, no sign-up and no paid tier, on this website or on WhatsApp. It asks for no login, no OTP and no card.
Is this the IRCTC chatbot, AskDISHA?
No. AskDISHA is IRCTC's own official chatbot and it can book a ticket. Ask TrainBot is independent of Indian Railways and IRCTC, needs no IRCTC account, and only answers enquiries. If you want to buy, cancel or get a refund on a ticket, IRCTC is the place.
Can it book a ticket or a Tatkal ticket for me?
No. It cannot book, cancel, change or refund a ticket, and it never asks for your IRCTC password or a payment. Reserved tickets are issued only by IRCTC and its authorised partners; be wary of any chat that claims otherwise.
What does the AI actually do?
It reads your question, decides which railway lookup answers it, and writes the reply in your language. It does not make up the answer: the train status, PNR status, seats and fares come from a live rail-data feed, and if a lookup returns nothing it says so rather than guessing.
Which languages can I ask in?
Any language you write in. Hindi, English and Hinglish are the common ones, and a question typed in Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia or Urdu is answered in that language and script. Spoken questions are understood in Hindi and English.
Can it predict whether my waiting list ticket will confirm?
No. It shows the current status of your PNR as the railway reports it and does not estimate confirmation chances. Which kind of waiting list tends to clear is explained in the guide on this site.
Is what I type saved?
The conversation is kept only in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. We do not store the text of your question or of the reply. Your message is sent to our server and to an AI model so that it can be answered, and for nothing else.
Should I use this chat or WhatsApp?
Use this page. It is the same assistant, with the same railway data, and it answers here without an app, a sign-up or sharing your number. It starts fresh each visit rather than remembering your last train, and it reads typing and speech but not a photo of a ticket.
